Running the trails that lead to Volcan Nevado de Colima allows you to appreciate a unique ecosystem. Species such as the high pine (Pinus hartwegii), cedar (Juniperus monticola), oyamel, and various species of encino are found. It is a highlight for avifauna, with over 450 species of birds including White Eared Hummingbird, Elegant Euphonia, Mountain Trogon FB and Acorn Woodpecker.
