Sierra de Manantlan






The Sierra de Manantlán Biosphere Reserve (Jalisco/Colima) is a high priority Protected Natural Area in Mexico, famous for being a transition point between the flora and fauna of the Arctic and the neotropical. Home to pine, oak and mesophile forests, with immense biodiversity and the ancient perennial maize (Zea diploperennis). It is the habitat of birds such as Brown Backed Solitaire, Amethyst Throated Mountain Gem and Green Striped Brushfinch.
